A NEW look...

We had some more visitors and we had so much fun. Just before Gram and Gramp left I came into the living room and found Benson's new look!! Can you say what a stud!! Here are a few more pictures from the visit.

A weekend with the Grandparents

We love visitors! We were so EXCITED to have my parents come for a quick weekend visit. We had so much fun. We went to Ikea for their $1 breakfast and also adventured on the train to the U of A hockey game. Here are a few pictures.

Benson in the kitchen

I came into the kitchen the other day and found this!!!

To cut or not to CUT?

Well, everyone looks forward to when they can cut, trim, buzz, or chop off their child's hair. OK, well almost anyone. Benson has some long spots, like his thick strip right on top, that are growing out of control. I'm not so sure wings are in, unless you are a hockey player, but i'm also not sure if I can cut this little monsters hair. To cut or not to cut.....You be the judge.

I told max one day he would come home from school and Benson will have a buzz cut.....he said don't you dare!!!!!!

6:30AM

It's so hard to believe but I got to sleep in!! Since moving to Edmonton Benson has been getting up at 5AM every morning. That comes WAY to early if you ask me! So I would get him and put him back to sleep and hope it lasted until 5:30 or 6. Along with the 5am wake up he would cry in the night 5 or so times. I would get him, hold him and then put him back in his bed. However, Last Night was a different story......He got up once after sleeping for an hour and then no until 6:30 AM!! He did make some noise in the night but I think i'm pretty quick to jump up and plug his mouth with the soother!! It worked though!! Today is going to be a great day!!!!
We all got plenty of rest... except max....I warned him....he wanted a snack before bed and choose to go all out and have M&M's with Dr.Pepper....right before bed. NOT SMART....he fell asleep easy but was up most of the night!!! It's his own fault I told him. The moral of the story......DON'T DRINK POP BEFORE BED!!!!

Elk in the Park

We adventured out of the city today. We drove to Elk Island National Park. It is about 35km from the city. We really didn't see any elk on this trip however as the pictures show we ran into, literally ran into a million buffalo. They were in a trapped area that you were allowed to drive through and let them come close the vehicle as well as roam FREE in the park. It was just as scary as running into a bear!! We have found a new place to take family and friends when they come to visit! Benson's favorite part was when he got to stand at the window and talk to the buffalo. It was too cute. Here are few pictures of the trip.

p.s. The white house you see in the background was made by Ukrainian Pioneer's. It was under construction for renovations but from what we could see was that they were talented people. The roof was made of wheat and the outside was trees and mud.

Groceries in P.J.'s

This EARLY this morning we ventured out to the store to buy groceries. This time it was max's idea to wear our p.j.'s. (something he never has a desire to do!) We just had to get a picture!

p.s. The funny thing about our whole adventure was that when you wear p.j.'s you don't have pockets....pockets for wallets!! Needless to say, we were walking to the check out with no money! Max had to run back home while Benson and I went and played in the toy isles!!

Hammers are danderous!!

So it's a bit hard to get a clear picture bit at least you can see Bensons cute chubby feet!! So after hanging some pictures I put the hammer down. ON THE COUCH. It didn't clue into me that a cute sweet innocent boy could reach the hammer and would reach for it. I was picking up some toys off the floor while Benson crawled to the couch, grabbed the hammer, looked at it and then changed his mind about wanting it. So when he doesn't want things.....HE DROPS OR THROWS THEM.....this resulted in a hammer to the toe or foot. I'm not too sure. All I know is that a tiny blood blister is what cme of it. ooooppppps!

sick baby, great husband & clean house

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

Our Friday night was spent cleaning house, cuddling with a sick boy and watching
the Eskimo's get stomped on!

Sounds exciting I know.

Really it wasn't, but when you have a clean house and a HAPPY mom then

EVERYBODY's Happy!

Once the dirty work was done we all played.
These pictures tell the story!!
(Ok so the pictures were to be at the bottom but i was having trouble and gave up!!)

Dancing to Taylor!

This is for Uncle Ecer!!!!

This is a very very short video. I turned on the computer and had the music going as Benson and I were playing in the Living room. This is all I caught on tape until he started trying to get the camera. If there is music on that he likes he will start rocking back and forth with a big grin on his face. It's very cute.

p.s. For those who don't know Benson is dancing to a Taylor Swift song, Uncle Ecer's Favorite Artist!! (Can you see why!! Ok and she is a very good girl and awesome singer!)

We are ALIVE.

Yes it has been FOREVER that anyone has heard from us or knows what is going on. Here is a quick update. (QUICK....Benson is asleep and not trying to help me type on the laptop!!) We are, for the most part, settled into our new home. It is cute and cozy. We like our new place. Max is enjoying school, somewhat!! He has decided to switch from a math major to a science major. He has also contemplated the thought of continuing on and becoming an Occupational Therapist. He would only need two more years after he finished his Ed degree. This is just a though. We shall see where it goes!! Benson and I are becoming more and more familiar with the shopping centers and parks!! We love to walk the malls and play on the playground. We also love thrift store shopping. Those are the things we do to keep busy while dad is at school. Oh well, we also clean the house, cook the food and play with lots of toys! Here are a few pictures.

p.s. WE WOULD LOVE VISITORS!!! We have a spare room with a queen size bed right next to the bathroom! You are welcome anytime.

I LOVE these!!

Benson has discovered how to shovel his mouth full of yummmy foods. Today he tried Avocado and was sort of board with me feeding him so i tossed it on his tray and this is the result!

He LOVED every minute of it!!

P~A~T~I~E~N~C~E

Being a mom teaches you many, many things. One thing I learned the other day was "All things work out when done in P~A~T~I~E~N~C~E" I had so many pears to can once we got back from our trip. I didn't want to can them. I just wanted to pack. I decided it would be worth it in the end to just hurry up and can. I had a problem though....max was outside painting and could not stop once Benson woke up and I couldn't stop what I had started either. What was I to do. I decided to go ahead and can. I got everything ready and said to myself....If Benson wakes up thats ok, I can still do this! Of course it wasn't long. He was awake. A long story short, we canned together! He ate pears and waffles while I pealed, cut, and processed pears. I would cut and peal while in between shove food in Benson's mouth! So needless to say....I learned a great lesson.
